OUR COMPANY STORY
Some things result from a question. This one is a result of many. "How is that made?." " How is it able to be done precisely?" "How is that repeatable?" " What should it look like?" " How does it perform under stress?" How does that work?" Questions lead to more knowledge which leads to other questions.
We enjoy answering those questions and participating with the process to uncover ways of making, whether it is the very new as in robotically assisted fabrication techniques or very ancient as in violin building techniques. In the end what is important is how these techniques realize a vision.
The founder, Guy Martin, has spent many years honing both digital and analogue craft, and holds a Masters in Architecture along with other certifications. His work has appeared in museum collections, galleries across the nation, and his services has been commissioned by major corporations.

GUY MARTIN DESIGN
Melding the very old and the very new.
Because not all good ideas start in a garage...This one started in a barn in South Louisiana with a welding machine and some grit and determination. It started with wonder of materials, process, and how to wrestle a design into being. Sometimes it was just a sketch on a concrete floor sometimes it was a fully fleshed out CAD model. This interest of making, of knowing that the designer with the knowledge of materials and process informed a more nuanced and rich design process, has led to our internal design studio as well as offering this knowledge and experience to other companies, artists, designers, and architects to realize their projects.

WE ARE THE
CREATIVE TEAM
Steeped in roots of his creole South Louisiana culture, Guy Martin grew up with the influences of his artist mother and engineer father. After formative years in New Orleans, he grew up in Europe, the Middle East, and India. These early experiences shaped his interest and understanding of different cultures and ways of being in the world. He brings this sensitivity and knowledge to his work. In his spare time you will find him playing his fiddle with his Cajun and Creole band "Joe Sands Fontenot Band".
